About the Authors: Janis and Blaine Carmena

We’re a husband-and-wife team living full-time aboard Tangaroa, our 78-foot aluminum trawler yacht, with a passion for adventure and exploration. Janis tells the stories and keeps the journey connected, while Blaine tackles the technical side, from navigation to engine work.

We share our journey both here on the blog and on YouTube, bringing you along as we travel to remote places, uncover unique histories, and tackle the realities of life at sea.

Right now, we’re in the middle of The Great Siberian Sushi Run—an epic voyage from British Columbia to Alaska, across the Bering Sea to Siberia, and down to Japan.
